Louisiana Residents Shocked When Shark Shows Up in Neighborhood
Residents in a New Orleans neighborhood were left scratching their heads after a small shark showed up on a road.
Yes, a small bull shark was spotted in a neighborhood near the Fairgrounds and on Florida Avenue.
While many don't know how the small shark showed up in the city, bull sharks have been spotted in freshwater areas in recent years when looking for food, and perhaps a recent flood in the city relocated this scavenger.
Jack McComb told WGNO that his pet sitter found the shark, which was dead, in the street of their neighborhood while he was gone.
The New Orleans media outlet spoke to an aquatic expert and they believe that the shark may have been in Lake Ponchatrain and then made its way into a canal near Florida Avenue.
As shocking as it may sound, these small sharks have been spotted in canals and other small bodies of water in Louisiana, so you may want to proceed with caution when in or around the water.
So, the mystery remains on how this small shark showed up on the roadway in New Orleans, and some have not dismissed the idea that a fisherman may have caught it and tossed it out on the road.
Still, imagine how shocked you would be if you were walking the streets in your neighborhood and you saw a shark in the roadway. Yes, that would be enough for me to schedule an appointment with an optometrist.
