The New Orleans Saints are bringing back a familiar face.

The team signed offensive lineman Michael Ola on Friday.

To make room for Ola, New Orleans place tight end Jason Vander Lann on injured reserve.

The 31-year old Ola, who hasn't played this year, was on the Saints' opening-week roster in 2018.

Ola went on to appear in seven games for the Saints last season, including one start, before being placed on injured reserve in December with a season-ending ankle injury.

The 6-foot-5, 312-pound Ola played in two games for the Los Angeles Chargers in 2017, after playing in 6 games for the Buffalo Bills in 2016.

A native of Riverdale, Georgia, Ola has appeared in 39 career games, including 20 as a starter, over parts of 5 seasons in the NFL.

Vander Laan played in two games for the Saints this season after being called up from the practice squad. He injured his head in Thursday’s practice and did not participate in Friday’s session before his season ended.
