On October 12, as you are heading to the polls to vote, do something nice just because you can. Rotary Club of Lafayette is continuing their partnership with FoodNet Community Food Bank for their annual Election Day Food Drive.

According to a press release issued, 'Voters are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to the polls on Election Day. All polling sites in Lafayette Parish will accept donations of rice, pasta, canned good, sugar and other non-perishable food items. All donations are appreciated but polling sites cannot accept financial contributions. Individual Rotary Clubs will also accept donations.'

FoodNet was established in 1987, and is a member of the United Way of Acadiana. They serve over 33,000 individuals in need each year, with over 300,000 lbs of food garnered through community donations, food drives and local grants. The Rotary Club Election Day Food Drive is one of the three major food drives that they participate in each year.
