According to the press release issued by the FDA, the potential for deadly reactions is a real issue for people who have certain allergies.

Before you shove anything in your mouth that you normally snack on, you should know the latest from a company called Mondelez Global LLC. Who? Well, this is the parent company of Ritz Crackers.

This company owns multiple brands that you are likely familiar with, such as the following:

  • Triscuit Crackers
  • Oreos
  • Cadbury
  • Belvita
  • Chip Ahoy!
  • Honey Maid
  • Sour Patch Kids
  • What Ritz Cracker Products Are Being Recalled?

Only specific packages of Ritz sandwich crackers are being recalled.

So, don't go through cabinets getting rid of all of your Ritz crackers.

These are the products that are being recalled, according to the company:

    • 8-pack RITZ Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwich cartons
    • 20-pack RITZ Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwich cartons
    • 40-pack RITZ Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwich cartons
    • 20-pack RITZ Filled Cracker Sandwich Variety Pack carton

The products being recalled have "Best Used-By Dates" that start on November 1. You should click on their website to see if your products are part of the recall.

    Why Are They Being Recalled?

Essentially, the company has decided to voluntarily recall the packages above due to an Undeclared Allergen - peanut, as stated on their website.

They have no reports of any illnesses or injuries due to the mislabeling, but they have issued the recall as a precaution.

An allergy to peanuts can be deadly, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Their material also points this out on their website about this recall.

The affected cartons include individually wrapped packs that may be incorrectly labeled as Cheese variety, even though the product may be a Peanut Butter variety.
