Report: Saints Sign Pass Rusher Alex Okafor
The New Orleans Saints have signed some help for their defense.
After playing his college football at Texas, Okafor was chosen in the 4th round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals.
A starter in 2014 and 2015, Okafor had his best season in 2014, when he compiled 30 tackles, to go along with 8 sacks, both career highs.
In 4 NFL seasons, all with the Cardinals, Okafor has played in 42 games, including 25 as a starter, while accumulating 64 tackles and 13.5 sacks.
Okafor seems like a good fit for the Saints, who need some help getting to the quarterback, especially after losing defensive end Kasim Edebali to free agency on Monday.
Okafor didn’t have a stellar 2016 campaign, but he played through an injury, and he has the ability to provide the Saints with more of a pass rush.
