President Trump, in a conference call with Governors from around the country, asked them to "seriously consider" opening schools.

President Trump suggests America open schools before the end of the academic school year ends and maybe even extend it to make up for missed time in the classroom due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Medical experts following the outbreak think it would be a bad decision. The President said if there was a way to keep children 6 feet apart from each other, it could be done.

President Trump advised the Governors on the call that sending children back to school might get the economy moving again. That sending parents back to work instead of having them stay home with their children would move the economy forward, faster.

Several Governors on the call had plans to possibly offer educational workshops in the coming months but most had no plans in place for sending children back into schools this school year.

Parent's reactions are mixed.
