President of The University of Louisiana Trolls Basketball Attendance During Press Conference
The University of Louisiana held a press conference this week to announce that it hired a new Men's Basketball Coach. The university president, Dr. Savoie, even joked about the recent attendance at games in the Cajundome.
While introducing Quannas White as the new head coach for the Ragin Cajun's Men's Basketball team, Dr. Savoie acknowledged Coach White's family sitting in the first few rows and he said that with the size of his family, the university had already doubled its average attendance at games.
Of course, Dr. Savoie was joking, but attendance at basketball games in the dome has been a hot topic in recent years, and Coach White hopes to improve the attendance by next basketball season.
While speaking to the media during his introductory press conference, Coach White made it clear that he wants the Cajundome to be packed when his team takes the court next season.
The new basketball coach is encouraging students at UL, alumni, and even local high school athletes to get in the seats next basketball season. Coach White wants the dome to be rocking, and it can only happen if more fans show up to support his team.
We welcome Coach White and his family to Lafayette, and we hope that the community gets behind his team next basketball season
Here's a look at Coach White and his family making their way to Lafayette, and walking through the Cajundome.
