Louisiana or even worse, Acadiana, maybe the bullseye for not one but two back-to-back hurricanes next week. Hurricane Marco will be first, setting up perfect weather conditions for Laura to strengthen and head this way as well.

The current forecast track takes Hurricane Marco toward the south Louisiana coast late in the day Monday and weakening to a strong tropical storm as it makes landfall. Tropical Storm Laura is then expected to strengthen to hurricane status once she gets into the Gulf of Mexico.

In my lifetime, I can't tell you how many times forecasters have predicted a Category 4 or 5 hurricane to hit Louisiana and in what seems to be just minutes before these brutal storms make landfall, they calm down to barely a Category 1 hurricane. Meanwhile, weather gurus are all at their computers with their hands in the air saying, "how could this happen?"

Sometimes when you're dealing with the spiritual universe, things can't be explained. Never underestimate the power of the people of Louisiana and prayer.

(Psalm 57:2) Have mercy on me, God, have mercy, for in you my soul is taking refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by.

Here are more prayers to ward off hurricanes and impending natural disasters.
