Plans For Downtown Lafayette Grocery Store Announced
Residents who live in and around downtown Lafayette and those that work there will soon have another shopping option when it comes to grocery shopping. Developers of a new health food store and market revealed some of their plans to the media during a tour on Tuesday.
The Handy Stop Market and Cafe plans to open on Jefferson Street in Downtown Lafayette sometime in the Spring of this year. The store plans to provide patrons with a variety of teas and smoothies as well as offering a selection of locally sourced produce, meats, and dairy items.
According to the business' Facebook Page, the Handy Stop Market and Cafe is owned by Bradley Cruice a second-generation entrepreneur and grocer. It will be the first new grocery store in Downtown Lafayette. The store will be located at 444 Jefferson St. at the corner of Jefferson and Congress streets.
The store plans to offer customers a drive-through service to make shopping even easier. In addition to grocery items, the store will also offer patrons a choice of prepared food and deli items too.
