There will be an OWI checkpoint this Friday night starting at 9 p.m.

The checkpoint in Lafayette will be held in the incorporated limits of the city.

As usual, officers will respond with zero tolerance to any impaired drivers.

In addition to alcohol, officers say any driver that is under the influence of drugs or other debilitating substances will be arrested.

Officer ask that when you make plans to go out, you also make plans to have designated driver.

Being arrested as an impaired driver can be extremely costly between the fines and the jail time.
