Over 1,000 Stray Cats Live in this Cat Sanctuary [VIDEO]
I guess you can say that I am a cat person, because I own a cat (or, should I say, the cat owns me). But I can't imagine being in charge of a place that houses over 1,000 cats.
That's exactly what's happening at this cat sanctuary in Syria. According to the video from Reuters, the facility houses, feeds, and provides medical care for stray felines.
Most of the cats are injured or have been abandoned or neglected by their owners. There is a fence around the facility, and different areas to accomodate cats that need to be isolated (for medical reasons), expectant/new mothers (cats, of course), and an area for the general population. Kind of like a prison, but better, I guess.
The medical area sees more than 30 cats per day where they are treated for any maladies, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and nursed back to health.
It wasn't brought up in the story, so I'll ask: what about the kitty litter? Who scoops through over 1,000 catsworth of kitty litter each day? Because you have to scoop it each day. You know that, right? If you don't scoop it each day, you'll eventually find a present in your shoe. (Don't ask me how I know that.)
