The ability to serve the emergency medical needs of residents in South Louisiana just got a bit of a booster shot. Yesterday officials with Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center held a grand opening for their latest emergency facility. This facility is located north of I-10 in Scott.

The new Lourdes Emergency Center in Scott will offer comparable emergency care to the kind of emergency care offered at the main campus of the hospital. The location of the facility, which will be open 24 hours a day and seven days a week, puts an emergency medical facility closer to residents who live in this part of Acadiana.

Officials are quick to point out that this facility is not an urgent care facility the way most of us think of urgent care. The new Lourdes Emergency Center will offer treatment for any emergency situation from heart attack to stroke to broken bones and more.

The Lourdes Emergency Center is located at exit 97 off of I-10 in Scott. The facility is staffed with board-certified  E.R. physicians and nurses. The opening of the new facility in Scott brings the total number of emergency centers operated by the Our Lady of Lourdes network to four.
