It's that time of year, peak hurricane season. Late August & early September bring the most tropical activity. Andrew, Gustav, Katrina all hit around this time. Storm Team 3 meteorologist Dave Baker tells us we have a new tropical storm in the Gulf.

Ferdinand was located  23.5 North 95.3 West. That's about 160 miles east of La Pesca, Mexico. Ferdinand poses no threat to Louisiana. Tropical storm warnings are up from northern Mexico to the Texas line.
