The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development says that U.S. Highway 90 westbound will be reduced to one lane on Wednesday, July 3, and Monday, July 8, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., in order to allow crews to perform shoulder work.

The closure will take place on U.S. 90 between Ambassador Caffery Parkway and the Billeaud overpass, weather permitting.

The work being performed during this closure is related to the $4.9 million project to install j-turns on U.S. 90 between the Billeaud Overpass and Wall Road.

The J-turn design will safely and efficiently manage traffic and eliminate left-turn and through movements from side roads and driveways into crossovers.

All vehicles will be required to turn right and then U-turn at a median opening down the road.
