Louisiana hit another milestone in the COVID-19 vaccine rollout. On Monday, the Louisiana Department of Health announced that more than 500,000 people have been fully vaccinated.

To date, 533,644 people have completed their vaccine series, which includes those who received both shots of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines or those who received the single-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

(Considering that the population of Louisiana is roughly 4.65 million, that comes out to about 11.5% of the state's residents fully vaccinated. Last week, in the U.S. we crossed the 10% threshold of Americans being fully vaccinated.)

As of Monday, 917,628 people across the state have received at least their first dose of the vaccine. More than 1.4 million total doses have been administered in Louisiana so far.

The state expanded vaccine eligibility last week and included most adults that have a pre-existing medical condition.
