Surprise! The Duchess of Sussex made an unannounced appearance Wednesday night on the season finale of NBC's "America's Got Talent' reality show. Meghan Markle, who along with her husband Prince Harry, have admitted that they are huge fans of contestant Archie Williams, who is a Louisiana native. The Duchess wanted to send some good wishes out to the former Angola prisoner, and a touching video was shown during the finale (which you can see below).

Of course, we don't think it is a coincidence that the couple loved to cheer on Mr Williams, considering that he shares a first name with their one year old son. The two wanted to show their support, and Markle said "Just wanted to let you know that we've been so moved by your story and we've been cheering you on every week and it's not just because we're partial to the name. So, a very special message to you that I'll probably be saying all of my life, but on this night it's specifically for you: Archie, we are proud of you and are rooting for you, we can't wait to see what you do. We're in your corner, have a good night."

This is not the first time Williams has received praise from a celebrity. After having seen his audition for the show, which featured a stirring rendition of "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me", Sir Elton John invited the Bayou State resident to join him onstage at his (since rescheduled) New Orleans show.

Even though Mr Williams did not win the competition last night, his story on being wrongly convicted of a Baton Rouge rape and stabbing, and being incarcerated for 27 years at Angola State Penitentiary captured the hearts of millions of Americans. Including one who just happens to have a son named Archie, as well.
