Lafayette Man Arrested In Shooting (UPDATED)

24-year-old Cedric James Blackwell of Lafayette has been arrested and now sits in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on 1 Count of Attempted Second Degree Murder and Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon.

35-year-old Lamajor Cormier of Lafayette was the victim in the incident.

A shooting overnight in Lafayette has left a man in the hospital in stable condition.

Lafayette Police Department spokesperson Corporal Bridgette Dugas says the 35-year-old black man was shot at the corner of Paul Breaux Avenue and Cooper Drive.
