Officials with the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office have arrested a Lafayette man after allegations of contractor fraud were lodged against him.

Lafayette man, 37-year-old Ellis St. Pierre, was arrested by deputies with the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office.

The man was booked on a charge of Residential Contractor Fraud

Ascension Parish Sheriff Bobby Webre says investigators have told him that St. Pierre received $40,000 to do work.

The man is alleged to have taken the money, but didn't do the flood repair work needed for a home in 2017.

The Sheriff says that the man did refund $20,000 of the $40,000, but didn't complete the repairs.
