Major Grass Fire in Lawtell, Louisiana Spreads to Several Structures

We are following a developing story out of St. Landry Parish.

A major grass fire has spread to structures in the Lawtell area and now a number of people on social media are asking people to pray for the community.

KLFY TV 10 reports,  that the fire is in the vicinity of Hwy. 190 and Bernard Road.

Initial reports are that several structures are on fire and that the grass fire is out of control.

Acadiana is experiencing a very windy dry, and with the current dry conditions, this could be a major issue for area firefighters.

Even with the minimal rain across the state, Louisiana does remain under a strict Burn Ban.

I am told several fire departments in the area have been dispatched to this major fire in St. Landry Parish.
