Lafayette Utilities System Makes Paying Your Bill Easier Than Ever

(99.9 KTDY) - If you are tired of only having one option on where you can go to pay your Lafayette Utilities System bill, then you'll be happy to know dozens more locations can now be added to your list.

Lafayette Utilities System Spokesperson Heidi Tweedel says the company has now expanded options for customers who want to pay their bills in person.

Why LUS Expanded Bill Payment Options

It used to be that you had to go to the LUS office to pay your bill, or pay online or over the phone. Now, you have even more options when it's time to pay your bill. Some customers have long hoped for more payment options and more locations to pay. Your wish has been granted.

New In-Store Payment Partners

The following are the new ways to pay:

• Walmart Bill Pay (WMBP): Request same-day processing at the Walmart MoneyCenter or Customer Service. A small processing fee will apply.
• Scan to Pay: In-store retail cash payments accepted at Dollar General, CVS, Walgreens, and Office Depot. A small processing fee will apply.
• PayPal, PayPal Credit, Venmo, Apple Pay, and Google Pay digital wallets

How Walmart Bill Pay Works

If you decide to use Walmart Bill Pay, you will need to do the following:

Customers using WMBP will go to Walmart and tell the associate they would like to have their payment processed using same-day WMBP. They will need to provide their account number, phone number, and identification. Cash, debit cards, and UCards™ will be accepted.

How to Use the Scan to Pay Option

If you choose to use Scan to Pay, you will need to do the following:

Customers using Scan to Pay will select $Cash in the portal and choose which store they want to pay their bill. They will receive a barcode via email or text that will expire after 24 hours. Bring the barcode to the selected store and pay the bill in cash.

Our goal is to make paying LUS bills as simple and convenient as possible. By adding the option to pay your LUS bill while shopping at these stores, we are saving time and adding flexibility for our customers.
