LSU Basketball to Visit McNeese In Exhibition Game and Fundraiser
(Baton Rouge, Louisiana) - LSU and McNeese Men's Basketball teams will meet up on the hardwood this fall, and it's all for a great cause.
If you follow college basketball in Louisiana, you know that Will Wade, who has returned to LSU as the men's basketball coach, once coached at McNeese in Lake Charles and, when he left the Cowboys, said he would always support the program there.
Well, it appears that the new LSU basketball coach is living up to his words because, during a recent podcast, it was announced that the LSU Tigers Men's Basketball team willl travel down I-10 and play an exhibition game in Lake Charles.
Yes, the Tigers are coming to Lake Charles and Coach Wade made the promise at a recent NIL fundriasing event.
Now you may be asking yourself, how does this warrant Wade living up to his word about always supporting the McNeese Basketball program? All funds collected from ticket sales will go to the basketball program at McNeese.
With the excitement in Baton Rouge for Wade's return, I hope they sell out the arena in Lake Charles so the McNeese basketball program gets as much money as possible from this scrimmage.
According to the American Press, this will only be the second time LSU plays in Lake Charles. Back in 1986, the Tigers defeated the Cowboys in the Burton Coliseum 77-62.
