Louisiana Woman Throws A Birthday Party For Construction in Neighborhood
If you haven’t noticed the Construction Birthday Party post going around on social media, you’ve been missing out on the big celebration. A Facebook post has gone viral about a special birthday party and for good reason. Natalie Harvey wished a happy birthday to the ROAD WORK in front of her house. Construction themed party of course. She literally had a party complete with a cake and balloons to celebrate.
The construction on 20th Street in Lakeview has been going on for a year and Harvey’s entire street is torn up, including directly in front of her house, according to WGNO.
Our driveways on my side were blocked for about 3 months this summer. Now the other side is blocked, so nearly every house on the opposite side of the street from mine, has their driveways blocked. – Natalie Harvey
Now you know we can all relate here in Lafayette. Especially off of Kaliste Saloom, right? Harvey says the construction is taking so long because of the sporadic work schedule. For example, they work every day for one week, then there will be no one working for 2-3 weeks.
Her Facebook post reads: "Happy first birthday to our street construction! It was one year ago this week when they first began to rip up our street. One year later, half the street is impassable — just last week, we had a massive, 6-foot-deep hole! To celebrate, I created a replica of the street scene in cake form: two layers of chocolate sponge with peanut butter frosting."
You have to appreciate Harvey’s humor. If you can’t control it, instead of letting it get to you, just laugh.
I have a feeling she will start a new trend. We may start seeing a lot of “Bob The Builder, Construction Theme” parties in Lafayette.
