(Lafayette, Louisiana) - As much of the Gulf Coast braces for tropical showers this week and into the weekend, could we see another round of tropical weather next week?

We know that Hurricane Season is far from over, but once we get through one threat of tropical weather, can we not get a break in the action? Apparently Not.

KLFY News 10 Meteorologist Chris Cozart shared a graphic on social media Thursday morning, showing the tropical weather set to impact Acadiana this weekend. The system is expected to move north once it passes through, and then possibly reemerge in the Gulf by next week.

If that is the case, we could be dealing with more rain later next week and a potential threat for a storm to form in the northern Gulf again.

We share this with you to not alarm you, but to remind you to stay weather-aware. Plus, if you got sandbags for this week or the weekend because you live in a flood-prone area, keep them around your house or business for a few more weeks.

We will continue to monitor the weather conditions this week and into the weekend, then keep our focus on what could impact us by next week. Remember, long-range forecasts often do change, but it is worth monitoring during this time of the year

You know, when guests from other parts of the country or the world visit South Louisiana, they often don't want to leave because of the food and hospitality. Perhaps the same could be said of tropical showers or storms.

We are very welcoming in South Louisiana, but we have our limits when it comes to storms or the threat of flooding.

Here's a look at the graphic that Chris shared on social media early Thursday morning.
