Louisiana Prepares For Below Freezing Windchills
Another strong cold front will bring rain and colder temperatures to Louisiana by the end of the week.
If you have plans to decorate the outside of your home or business for the holidays, you may want to be weather-aware in the days ahead.
Forecasters are calling for a lot of rain by mid-week, and then another round of storms on Sunday, but after the storms come through temperatures will drop.
At this time there's no reason to worry about the pipes at home or work, but the windchill on Friday morning could be way below the freezing mark. Meteorologist Payton Malone shared a graphic on social media and it shows the windchill in Louisiana on Friday morning in the mid to upper 20s.
So, yes, the kids may need their "big coats" as they head out to school to end the week. Also, please don't forget your pets if they're outdoors, you will need to bring them in or make arrangements for them outdoors so that they can stay warm.
As for the gumbo pots, I think we've reached the point in the year when you never put them away because, for the next few months, we will have plenty of cold days and nights, which call for good gumbo.
