Louisiana Man Wanted by Authorities For Alleged Theft
Authorities in Calcasieu Parish are looking for this man after he allegedly took something that did not belong to him.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is looking for David Richmond, 35, of Westlake after he allegedly stole an excavator and skid steer in Westlake.
He is wanted on two counts of theft between $5,000 and $25,000.
The person who reported the missing equipment contacted police in early December, and that is when they were able to trace it to an address that belongs to Richmond. Once there, detectives located the missing piece of equipment, but Richmond told detectives that someone dropped it off for repairs.
Well, after authorities were able to obtain a search warrant for Richmond's phone, they discovered that he had stolen the excavator.
Upon further investigation, detectives learned that Richmond also stole a skid steer from the same address in June of 2024. An arrest warrant was issued for Richmond's arrest on Feb. 7, 2025.
Since then, the Sheriff's Office has been trying to get in touch with the alleged thief, but has had no success, thus they are asking you if you know where this man is. CPSO asks anyone with information on his whereabouts to call them at 337-491-3605.
Mr. Richmond is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
