(KTDY) - Fall is here, and soon it feels very much like Fall, or even winter, just as the kids hit the street for Halloween fun.

We're beginning to experience more cold fronts in late October, which is a good thing as we approach the end of the 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season. Soon, we may be feeling some of the coldest air this season has had so far.

Meteorologists are watching a strong cold front push further southward, and for those along the Gulf Coast, we may soon need to pull the jackets out of the closet. The cold front is forecasted to reach South Louisiana by next Wednesday, October 29, 2025.

That means when the kids hit the streets for Trick-Or-Treating late next week, they will likely need to bundle up. I can remember as a kid Trick-or-Treating, and we'd sweat profusely, so this will be a nice change for those out on Halloween night.

2025 Halloween Weather Forecast

Temperatures are expected to dip into the mid-40s on Halloween night, and with a strong north wind, it may feel even cooler than that. So, parents should start to plan accordingly for Halloween this year. And for those who may be attending high school football games later next week, you may finally be able to ditch the soft drinks for hot chocolate in the stands.

While this summer may not have been the hottest on record, it was still brutal at times. For those who love cooler temperatures, you will appreciate what's to come by the middle of next week. Take out the gumbo pots, it's gumbo weather in Acadaiana, and we can't wait.

Here's a look at the extended forecast for Acadiana. Keep an eye on the lows as we approach the end of next week.

Take a look at the cold air that is pushing further southward, and that is expected to reach the Deep South just in time to wrap up the month of October. Perhaps this will be enough to drive the mosquitoes away as well.
