Lindsay Lohan really wants to be part of Ariel's world.

In February, the naturally redheaded actress and former Disney star expressed interest in starring as the spunky teenaged mermaid in the company's planned live action remake of the 1989 animated classic.

However, according to her request, she would only consider doing the movie if Beauty and the Beast director Bill Condon was at the helm of the ship. (The proverbial kind, not the one Prince Eric impaled Ursula with.)

Speaking to Vulture, Condon pleasantly acknowledged Lohan's interest in working with him on a Little Mermaid movie.

"I know! It was sweet, it was very sweet of her," he said. "I hope she gets to make that movie! I feel like I was so lucky in getting this crown jewel [with Beauty and the Beast], but I’ll go see her in Little Mermaid, absolutely."

Flipping your fins you don't get too far—maybe LiLo should make a call to the House of Mouse if she's serious about dipping her toes into Atlantica.
