The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for Tuesday, July 21st.

There have been 96,583 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana. There are 1,691 more reported cases since yesterday. Over the past ten days the percentage positive of cases has averaged just under ten percent.

Numbers show that there are 1,527 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized. That is 19 more hospitalizations reported since yesterday.

186 patients are on ventilators across the state. That is 6 fewer patients than was reported yesterday.

The total number of deaths due to COVID-19 is 3,498. That is 36 more reported deaths since yesterday. The 36 deaths recorded over the last 24 hours is the highest since May 22nd, when the state reported 39 deaths.

As of today, 53,288 COVID-19 patients are presumed to have recovered. That's 6,954 more recovered patients since last week.

The total number of coronavirus cases that have been in the Acadiana region is 14,134 with 317 total deaths reported.
