(99.9 KTDY) - If you love to dance, then the Lagniappe Ladies are looking for you. The local dance troupe loves to dance and attend fundraisers, parades, festivals, and other community events, and they are looking for new members.

You can't miss the Lagniappe Ladies as they are the lovely ladies all decked out in pink, ready to dance their hearts out to uplift the community. If you're 30 or older and love to dance, you need to learn more about this family-friendly sisterhood.

Who Are the Lagniappe Ladies?

Almost every woman we know over 30 can cut a rug. You can join this sisterhood and dance until your heart's content. You would be part of a force for good in Acadiana. These ladies bring so much joy to any event they attend.

What Makes the Lagniappe Ladies So Special

Lagniappe Ladies Director Kelly Strenge says the organization is about bonding with other women who love the Acadiana community.

We are entering our eighth year as an organization, and we are reaching out to the community to invite women to join our sisterhood. Being in Lagniappe Ladies has given me a sense of belonging that I feel is rare.

 

Here's How to Begin the Process of Becoming a Lagniappe Lady

There is a four-week dance program that is phenomenal, where you will have a blast making new friends and meeting the Lagniappe Ladies. It's your chance to become a part of the sisterhood. This fun time will give you insight into the group and help you decide if you would like to officially join.

Lagniappe Ladies Co-Director Holly Husband says,

We want membership in the organization to grow, and we feel this four-week trial program allows you to get to know us while we get to know you. Whether we are dancing in parades or volunteering at a community event, the biggest reward we get is the smiles we see on everyone’s faces.

Wednesday, March 18, will be the date for a gathering for anyone interested in becoming a Lagniappe Lady! If you like what you hear and see, then you would be a part of three rehearsals before joining the Lagniappe dance team.
