The Lafayette Utilities System sent a crew to Houma this week to help restore power to the community after Hurricane Zeta.

Over one million people along the gulf coast were without power after Hurricane Zeta, and power companies from all over the region are now working to get power back on.

In Acadiana, we have seen first hand how fast the power can be restored after a hurricane when mutual aid arrives, thus that is why LUS has sent crews to southeast Louisiana.

Many are still without power after Zeta, but officials hope to have power restored to most in the days ahead.

If there's any relief here, a strong cold front has brought cooler temperatures to the region, making it somewhat more bearable to be without electricity.
