UPDATE – Man & Woman Arrested In Lafayette Parish Homicide

Update: 30-year-old Sergio Vasquez and 23-year-old Magdalena Rojas were arrested by detectives with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office in Rosenberg, Texas, in connection with the homicide of 30-year-old Martin Dominguez.

Detectives say Vasquez and Rojas had an ongoing volatile relationship with Dominguez. The suspects, which live in Rosenberg, confessed to driving to Lafayette the night in question and shooting Dominguez, according to Captain Craig Stansbury with the LPSO.

Vasquez and Rojas have been booked into the Ft. Bend County Sheriff's Office in Rosenberg for 2nd Degree Murder and are waiting extradition to Lafayette.

Early this morning Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Deputies responded to reports of gunshots in the Iles Des Cannes Apartment Complex off Dulles Road.

Deputies discovered a Hispanic Male with multiple gunshot wounds at the intersection of Sweetbriar and Scotsdale, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

A homicide investigation team has started investigating, but sheriff's deputies say they have few details about the case at this time.

They are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call the 232-9211 or Crime Stoppers at 337 232-8477 (232-TIPS).  The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of family members.
