Lafayette Parish Schools Start School Year With Staggered Schedule

Students will soon be returning to the classroom in Lafayette Parish, but students will not all show up at the same time.

To ease the burden of many, parents included, the Lafayette Parish School System has announced a staggered schedule for when students do return to the classroom.

As you'll see below, students across the parish will return to their respective campuses on various days.

This is important to know and you need to know when your child is set to return to school for the 2024-25 school year.

Also, note that your address is vital when your child returns to school this year. It's hard to believe that faculty and students are about to return to the classroom, but the sooner you start, the sooner you finish---That's just some motivation for those who aren't ready for the upcoming school year.

So, ready the school supplies and uniforms because the 2024-25 school year is almost here.

Students start returning to school in Lafayette Parish on Wednesday, Aug. 7. "A Days" are designated for Odd Number street addresses, and "B Days" are designated for students with Even Number street addresses in the parish.

• Eighth grade
• 11th and 12th grades

Thursday, Aug. 8

• pre-K- 5th grade (B-day)
• Seventh grade
• 10th grade

Friday, Aug. 9

• pre-K and K (A-day)
• All first-fifth grades
• Sixth grade
• Ninth grade

Monday, Aug. 12

• pre-K and K (B-day)
• All first-12th grades

Tuesday, Aug. 13

• pre-K- 12th grades
