Lafayette Parish Schools have temporarily closed (as per Governor Edwards' proclamation) to help combat the spread of the coronavirus, but the kids will still be able to get a good meal.

LPSS sent an email to parents of children in the LPSS regarding "Grab & Go" meals. In the email, it states that the meals are NOT just for students: any child up to the age of 18 can grab one.

According to Proclamation Number JBE 2020-27 issued Friday, March 13, 2020, all Louisiana Public Schools are closed through April 13, 2020.The Lafayette Parish School System continues to work to address questions and concerns and will continue to update our school community in a timely manner.

While students are out of school, Lafayette Parish School System will offer student meals at the locations listed below. Meals will be offered to any child age 18 and under regardless of whether they are a Lafayette Parish School System student. Pick up times are 9:30a.m. - 1:00p.m., Monday - Friday. Breakfast and lunch will be provided together. In the health interest of students and staff, students who walk or ride to pick up meals are expected to receive his/her meal and immediately exit campus. Individuals coming in vehicles are asked to remain inside and not exit your vehicle. - LPSS

The Lafayette Parish School System ended the message thanking parents for their "continued support and patience" and hoping that their families stay healthy.
