For the first time ever, music fans from around the world will determine who gets an Atlantic Records contract and appears on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. But it's no ordinary contest when an artist from right here in Lafayette, Louisiana is competing! Yes, Lafayette native Lelia Broussard is up for the Rolling Stone magazine cover! It all started for Lelia back in February, around the same time as Lafayette High's Jacee Badeaux was appearing on American Idol. Rolling Stone picked 16 unsigned bands to compete for the most coveted prize in music- the cover of Rolling Stone- leaving it up to the voters to decide. Naturally, we're backing Lelia- we go way back with her. She sang live for us on KTDY when she just a kid back here at home. We are super excited about the possibilities for our hometown girl and encourage you to go vote for her!  Here's how we can help get our girl from Lafayette onto the cover of Rolling Stone:  During this final round, the 2 finalists will perform at the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tennessee. (BTW, Lafayette's Givers will also be performing at Bonaroo.) These performances will be posted on rollingstone.com.  You can vote for which of the two finalists you want to win the contest.  Vote May 18 thru July 1. The winner will appear on the August 18th cover of Rolling Stone and sign a record deal with Atlantic Records – will be announced on The Jimmy Fallon Show on August 1st, where they will make their live television debut. Let's help Lelia get the cover and the contract! Vote early and vote often! Geaux, Lelia!
