UPDATE: Carlee Alm-LaBar has responded to Josh Guillory's proposed debates.

Last week, one of the runoff candidates, Carlee Alm-Labar, made an accusation on Facebook that her challenger, Josh Guillory, is avoiding any forums or debates.

She says while she understands that scheduling conflicts can happen, that he has not come up with a date he can make one of the proposed events.

Josh Guillory has released a press release today saying that he is proposing three different debate events will Carlee Alm-Labar.

The three events are as follows:

  • KPEL Radio would broadcast a debate on Wednesday, November 13 at 7 p.m. that will be simulcast with our news partners on KATC TV-3.
  • Mayor-President Joel Robideaux would host a debate on Thursday, November 7 at 9 a.m, or Thursday, November 14 at 9 a.m.
  • KADN would tape a debate to be aired on Wednesday, November 15 at 5 p.m. on NBC, and then they would re-air the same night, but at 9:30 p.m. on Fox.

Guillory says,

I am looking forward to debating my opponent in the final week of the election so that voters have an opportunity to see and hear the candidates before going to the polls. I am proposing three debates, and have secured venues, along with a range options for dates and times. I have made time to commit to all three debates, that feature venues and entities that have not yet hosted forums or debates.

We are working to get comments from Carlee Alm-Labar.
