The latest trend on Facebook has been the 10-Year Challenge, in which you post a current picture of yourself next to a picture from 10 years ago. I went one step further.

Or two steps. Maybe three.

In 1989, I found myself with several of my closest Army buddies, rafting in the white waters of the Inn River in Austria. The Army called it "Survival Training". We called it "How To Whitewater Raft While Hungover".

It was a long time ago, but I can still remember the rush of having to navigate the waters (several people were thrown from the boat, if memory serves me correctly), listening to the commands from our guide and following through as best as we could. Then we'd get to a smooth part of the river, giving us a chance to relax and take in the beauty of the trip.

Anyway, back to the 10-Year Challenge. I was digging through some old boxes last week, and I came across this sweatshirt I had purchased while on that trip. Just a few days prior, I had come across a picture of me and my old Army buddy R. Shanon (Bob) Cole.

I decided to try to wear the sweatshirt. Lo! And behold! It stil fits! 30 years later!
