Rouses Markets is set to open its newest store in Lafayette, Louisiana, on Thursday, January 25th. The grand opening, including a ribbon-cutting ceremony, will begin at 8 a.m. at 1810 Camellia Boulevard.

This new store, spanning 55,000 square feet, is positioned next to River Ranch and marks the fourth Rouses location in Lafayette Parish. The newest Rouses location joins the existing stores on East Milton Avenue in Youngsville, Bertrand Drive, and Johnston Street in Lafayette. This expansion is a significant milestone for Rouses Markets, being the 65th store in its growing portfolio.

CEO Donny Rouse, the grandson of founder Anthony J. Rouse, Sr., expressed his excitement about further establishing the company's presence in Lafayette, noting its "special place in his heart" due to his college years spent at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

The new store aims to create up to 200 jobs in full- and part-time positions. It boasts a range of features, including a deli department with Boar's Head products, the largest selection of beer, wine, and spirits in Lafayette, and a full-service seafood department with a unique in-house boiling room. Seafood enthusiasts will appreciate the offerings from the Gulf Coast and beyond.

Additionally, the store will house a full-service butcher shop, complete with a custom dry-aged beef locker, a bakery offering local favorites like Gentilly and Doberge cakes, and a variety of chef-inspired, ready-to-eat options. The store will also feature a sushi bar, poke bowls, a Mongolian grill, hot meals throughout the day, and a full-service floral department.

In line with modern shopping trends, Rouses Markets will provide online shopping and convenient curbside pickup services.

The grand opening celebration will extend beyond the store's doors, as Rouses Markets is set to present donations to several local charities immediately following the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Rouses Markets has been a significant player in the Gulf Coast region since its inception in 1960. With over 7,000 team members, it has been recognized for its impact on local communities, supporting food banks, charities, festivals, and events.
