Lafayette Police Seek Help Identifying Dollar General Theft Suspects
Lafayette Police are asking for the public's help identifying several individuals accused of a theft at a local Dollar General.
According to Lafayette Crime Stoppers, the theft happened on Monday, August 3, 2026, at the Dollar General located at 2411 Louisiana Avenue. Investigators have released images of the individuals they believe were involved and are hoping someone in the community recognizes them.
Theft Investigation Underway
The Lafayette Police Department is actively investigating the reported shoplifting incident and is partnering with Lafayette Crime Stoppers to identify the people pictured in surveillance images.
While shoplifting is often viewed by some as a low-priority offense, law enforcement officials continue to investigate these cases and seek criminal charges when suspects are identified.
Retail theft can have a significant financial impact, especially on our local businesses, and police routinely rely on surveillance footage and community tips to help identify those responsible.

Police Continue Pursuing Shoplifting Cases
Many retailers instruct employees not to physically confront suspected shoplifters out of concern for employee safety. However, that policy does not mean thefts go uninvestigated.
The Lafayette Police Department regularly works with Crime Stoppers to identify suspects after the fact using surveillance video, witness information, and tips from the public. Cases like this often result in arrests weeks or even months after the alleged crime occurs.
Authorities say the public plays an important role in helping solve these investigations by recognizing suspects and reporting information anonymously.
How To Submit A Tip
Anyone who recognizes the individuals pictured is encouraged to contact Lafayette Crime Stoppers by calling (337) 232-TIPS (8477).
Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the P3 Tips mobile app or by dialing **TIPS (**8477) from a mobile phone.
Crime Stoppers says all callers remain anonymous, and information leading to an arrest may qualify for a cash reward.
Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward as investigators continue working to identify those involved in the alleged theft.
