Why Reese's Peanut Butter Pumpkins Taste Better

Once a year, Reese's releases their holiday themed peanut butter cups.

For Halloween, we get the Reese's peanut butter pumpkins, and for Christmas we get the Reese's peanut butter Christmas trees.

And they're delicious.

Have you ever thought that the Reese's peanut butter pumpkins and Christmas trees taste better that the regular Reese's peanut butter cups?

If you have, you're not the only one, and there's a simple reason why.

Even though this is subjective and may vary from person to person, there are a few  reasons why some people might prefer the pumpkin-shaped or Christmas tree versions.

Reese's Peanut Butter Pumpkins have a thicker layer of peanut butter filling compared to the regular cups, which can provide a more pronounced peanut butter flavor and a different texture.

From BHG.com -

"We discovered that it all comes down to the peanut butter-to-chocolate ratio. After cutting open a regular Reese's Peanut Butter Cup and a pumpkin-shaped Reese's, it's clear that the pumpkin-shaped cup has a much higher peanut butter-to-chocolate ratio"

There's also a bit of a psychological factors at play here as well.

The novelty and limited availability of seasonal items can lead people to pay more attention to the taste, making them more likely to appreciate the flavor.

Now that you know you've been right all these years, get to celebrating with a couple of Reese's peanut butter pumpkins!
