National Retailer Confirms Two New Stores for Louisiana

(KMDL-FM) The economic news concerning "brick and mortar" retail outlets as of late has not been the brightest. Most of the stories that you are seeing concerning that subject have been about retail outlets that are having to reorganize, downsize, declare bankruptcy, or simply shut their doors.

Scattered among the closings and the chapter eleven's, we have found some bright spots. You sometimes have to look hard to find the good news between the recalls, class action lawsuits, and overall consumer skepticism and uncertainty over tariffs and inflation.

We have learned that a major national discount chain is not only planning to open two new stores in Louisiana, but they are on pace to host 60 grand openings at various locations around the country before the end of the year.

What Retail Chain is Adding Two New Louisiana Locations in October?

This flurry of grand opening activity has been spearheaded by financial reports that show the company has seen an increase in total sales of 10% during the second financial quarter. And that's especially good news when you consider the company increased sales by 13% based on financial reports from last year.

The chain operates more than 1,100 stores across the United States. There are ten stores that currently operate in Louisiana. By the end of the year, with the addition of two more, the total will rise to twelve. Of course, the company and retailer that we are speaking of is Burlington Stores.

What Makes Burlington Stores So Popular?

Known for being an "off-price retailer," Burlington Stores offers consumers a wide variety of name-brand products that are significantly discounted. In many cases, consumers can save as much as 60% off the retail price.

The company's two newest Louisiana stores are slated to open in Baton Rouge at 10505 Mall Drive and in New Orleans at 500 Port of New Orleans Place, Suite 128 and 124. Both of these latest Louisiana locations of Burlington are scheduled to open on October 24th, 2025.
