Louisiana Lands 5 on Best Cities for Gardening Naked List

Lafayette, LA (KMDL) - Spring time has sprung in Louisiana. Folks all around Acadiana have already begun getting backyard gardens ready to grow bell peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and much more.

Some people might even be doing their gardening naked.

According to a new report, Lafayette, Louisiana actually ranks in the top 20 of the "Best Cities for Naked Gardening".

World Naked Gardening Day

Not only is naked gardening a thing, but there is actually an official day for it.

May 3 is officially World Naked Gardening Day, sometimes called simply WNGD.

World Naked Gardening Day aims to promote a healthy sense of body acceptance and encourages people to connect with their natural environment.

The first WNGD was held September 10, 2005.

Since then, the event has been held the first Saturday of May.

Lawnstarter.com did the research to find what cities in the U.S. will legally let you garden in the nude without getting into to legal issues.

Five Louisiana cities have made the list for "2025's Best Cities To Garden Naked".

According to lawnstarter.com these Louisiana cities let you garden in the buff without getting into legal trouble.

1. Lake Charles - Ranked 6th

2. New Orleans - Ranked 55th

3. Lafayette - Ranked 16th
