(KMDL-FM) They are now a regular sight for motorists on city streets in Lake Charles, Lafayette, and Baton Rouge in Louisiana. And, they are just as common on the streets of Beaumont, Lufkin, and Tyler, Texas, too. "They" are Amazon delivery vehicles.

Think about it, it wasn't that long ago that the products we ordered via the giant online retailer Amazon were delivered by the U.S. Postal Service, UPS, or FedEx; now there seem to be just as many Amazon vans on the streets as there are vehicles for those other carriers.

Amazon Delivery Reveals Harsh Truth About America Today

And while many bemoan the Amazon model as the downfall of the American retail industry, it just proves a point. That point is this: people are lazy. And, just as DoorDash and Uber Eats have proven, we don't want to even get in the car to feed ourselves anymore. Much less go to a store and actually shop.

Now, Prime Video isn't without controversy either; that platform recently switched from a "commercial-free" programming policy to one that includes advertisements. The move angered some subscribers so much that they filed a class action lawsuit.  But that dissent was met with deaf ears by the courts, as the lawsuit was dismissed.

But you can still be mad about it if it makes you feel better. Meanwhile, get ready to hunt down all of your favorites from Freevee at a new home. Or, you could just not watch them and maybe go outside and do something that actually enriches your life.
