We all teach our kids the importance of telling the truth, but we also know that sometimes bending the truth or even lying has a purpose. We don't lie about Santa, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy to hurt our children. We do it to make their childhoods even more special and teach them the importance of imagination and belief in something bigger than themselves.

Unfortunately, kids grow older and eventually ask adults the question 'is Santa Claus real?' or 'are you Santa Claus?'

Child behavior experts agree there's no 'perfect' age for telling kids the truth about Santa. Writer Martha Brockenbrough was asked if she was Santa and had an answer that may just be perfect.
