The Daily Iberian reported Monday, Iberia parish government officials have made the decision to have Halloween this year. Parish President Larry Richard made the decision after reviewing Phase 3 guidelines set forth by the state.

Richard said the plan is for Iberia Parish to have traditional Halloween festivities, just as before the Coronavirus pandemic. Governor John Bel Edwards' ordinance for Phase 3 puts the decision to have Halloween, or not, in the hands of local officials. After a meeting with the state's fire marshal, Richard decided there was nothing stopping the parish from having Halloween this year.

Each city, town and community will set trick or treating times individually.
