The weather is certainly hot enough. The water temperatures are beginning to rise. That means now is the time to keep an eye on the tropical Atlantic for any development.

Currently the National Hurricane Center is monitoring a tropical wave that is located just offshore of northern Honduras. The speculation on this system is that it will have a difficult time getting stronger as long as it remains as close to shore as it is.

The currently outlook from the Hurricane Center suggests that any strengthening of this system won't take place until at least Friday. Even then strengthening may or may not occur at all.

The system is currently so weak and disorganized that the reliable tropical models aren't really picking the system up in their guidance. However, the water is warm enough and the conditions for strengthening could become more favorable over the next few days.

We'd rather be vigilante on the tropics than waiting too late to give you the information you need to keep your family safe.
