An iconic Acadiana store in the city of Rayne will be closing its doors soon.

The owners of Worthmore 5 & 10 Cent Store announced in a Facebook post on Wednesday that they will be closing the store after more than 80 years in business.

The store opened back in 1936 by Dave Rosenbaum and the store has pretty much remained the same through the years. Even the cash register is original.

Rosenbaum passed the store on to two of his employees before his death -- Effie and Ike Hanks. Their grandchildren are the store owners these days.

While the store's closing is not set, KATC reports this is expected to be in mid-February.
