Hickory “Top Dog” At Westminster!

Well, the votes have been counted... Hickory, a Scottish Deerhound, has taken Best of Show at the Westminster Dog Show.

Although Hickory was the 6th ranked show dog in the world, her victory was a surprise to many.

This marks the first time a Scottish Deerhound has grabbed the Top Dog Trophy in Westminster’s 80-year history.

Scottish Deerhounds are a relatively rare breed in the United States.  They resemble Irish Wolfhounds.  After winning the championship, Hickory officially retired from competition.
