(Baton Rouge, Louisiana) - Graduation ceremonies for high school and college graduates are being held across the state of Louisiana right before Memorial Weekend, and one school from Baton Rouge has caught the attention of many on social media.

Look, graduation ceremonies are formal and designed to recognize tthe achievements of those graduating, but they can also be fun. In recent years, with everyone having a phone camera, we've seen some graduates take it to another level upon receiving their diplomas.

We have seen some students do flips, slides, and dances, but I don't know if we have ever seen a designated area for graduates to dance or "jig" once they get their diplomas.

Let me show you what Madison Preparatory Academy in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, allows its graduates to do once they exit the stage. Knowing that the graduating students won't be able to dance and celebrate their success, the school has designated a side-of-the-stage area at the ceremony for graduates to dance for a few seconds after receiving their diplomas.

Information on Madison Preparatory Academy

The charter school is located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and is known for its academic excellence and athletic success.

The school offers dual-enrollment opportunities and is an A-Rated school with a School Performance Score of 93.2.

Now, let's get back to the celebrations at this school's graduation ceremony, yes, you've read that correctly: graduates are instructed to celebrate offstage, and, as you will see below, there's even someone near the steps to hold their diploma while they celebrate.

Some graduates fall to the ground, while others are seen dancing in circles, and that's where the confusion comes in for some who aren't from Louisiana or the Deep South.

Many of these graduates are just "jigging" like they would in a bar or club, but those who aren't familiar with the  Louisiana"culture" have no clue what these graduates are doing, and that's where the critiquing comes in.

Watch as the high school graduates from Madison Preparatory Academy celebrate their high school success on their big night. Do you think that this is a bit much or distracting?

We again congratulate the entire Class of 2026 on their achievements.

Now, let's take a look at some of the comments on this viral video. As you will see, some on social media just don't know what really happens in Louisiana and at some celebrations.

These are just a few of the comments under the above video.
