GM Recalls 2018 Chevy Equinox, GMC Terrain And Acadia

General Motors has issued a recall of 2018 Chevy Equinoxes, GMC Terrain, and Acadias due to driveshaft issues.

The vehicles under recall have faulty right front intermediate driveshafts which may fracture and separate while the vehicle is in motion. Driveshaft assembly failure will result in loss of propulsion and increase the risk of a crash. The vehicle may also move unintentionally if parked at an angle without the park brake engaged.

Affected vehicles: 2018 Chevy Equinox, 2017 - 2018 GMC Acadia, 2018 GMC Terrain.

GM will notify owners and dealers will replace the right front intermediate drive shaft assembly at no charge. GM has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is 17329.
