A former Louisiana Ragin' Cajun football standout recently had a nice day in the professional ranks.

Jamal Robinson, who played in parts of five seasons for Louisiana (2011-2015), had two long receptions last Sunday, in an Alliance of American Football game.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Robinson, who plays for the Birmingham Iron in the AAF, caught two passes for 78 yards, in a 32-29 win over the San Diego Fleet.

So far this season, Robinson has caught three passes for 82 yards.

A native of New Orleans, who played his prep football at Slidell High School, Robinson compiled 155 catches for 2,650 yards during his time at UL, including 20 touchdowns.

Robinson was released by Birmingham before the start of the inaugural AAF season, but was re-signed on February 22.
